We're taking over two beautifully restored 18th-century barns to create the perfect backdrop for a night of lively conversation, delicious food, and maybe even a bit of square dancing (maybe?). It's a chance to connect with your fellow geospatial enthusiasts in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, surrounded by the warm, rustic charm of one of Virginia's most unique venues. This event is open to everyone who would like to register at no cost. Registration for this event is separate from the conference registration. This informal social gathering will begin with a brief welcome at 1:20 PM, followed by open networking.
This event will have activity stations, including:
Rapid Resume Roast Station- A station offering playful feedback on resumes—lightly delivered, but with insightful takeaways. We use “roast” purely as a branding term and will maintain a warm and constructive tone.
Career AMA (Ask Me Anything) Station- A station with volunteer mentors who can address career questions and share their stories of career growth.
Job Board Station - Yes, there will be a corkboard for posting job openings. The best part is that you may also have a chance to discuss these opportunities with the companies in attendance.
